SWOP-Chicago is a 100% volunteer-based grassroots organization. We aim to assist sex workers in the Chicagoland area as best as we can, but unfortunately there are some things that we cannot help with.
~We are NOT a social service agency. We cannot provide housing, professional counseling, or other social services. We are not a “rescue” group and have a non-judgmental, harm-reduction based philosophy regarding the sex trades.
~We do not work with youth or anyone under the age of 18. We can, however, give referrals to other organizations that do.
~ We cannot help anyone with suggestions on how to get into the sex industry, nor can we provide recommendations of places for people to work in the industry.
~ We cannot assist anyone with money for legal fees or other expenses related to an arrest. We can provide court support if requested.
~We do not have paid employment opportunities with the organization, nor can we provide internships for college students.
